Ready, Set, Go

Thanks to Covid, we hadn’t gone on a vacation since the last few years, after a 5 day trip to Sikkim in 2018. A plan to go on a vacation was in the cards but the dates and place weren’t finalized until 1st week June. Lot of discussion on where to go, what kind of a vacation we wanted. The decision was finally made – Leh, Ladakh it was (reasons galore).

We planned on a 7N-8D package to make sure we experience this heaven on earth at a slow pace.

Our itinerary was as follows
Day 1 - Arrive in Leh
Day 1 and 2 - Stay in Leh
Day 3 and 4 - Stay in Nubra Valley
Day 5 - Stay in Pangong
Day 6 and 7 - Stay in Leh
Day 8- Depart from Leh

If you have more time at hand, a 10-14 day vacation would do even more justice. You can add more places to your itinerary, but, remember that this place has to be visited multiple times to experience the beauty that it beholds.

With a little over 2 weeks left for the travel (4th July-12th July 2022) since the booking, the excitement of the forthcoming travel hadn’t set in yet. Packing was done over the previous week in a planned fashion to make sure we were equipped for the trip (which included carrying winterwear and layered clothing)

The journey began on a Monday afternoon by flight (Indigo) to Delhi that reached around 7 pm.

Leh, Here we come (Day 1)

Salute to the Army! (Day 2)

Khardungla and Nubra Valley (Day 3)

Panamik and Samstanling Monastery (Day 4)

Pangong Tso, Tso Beautiful (Day 5)

Hemis Tsechu and Thiksey Monastery (Day 6)

The Palace and the Market (Day 7)

Julley, Leh (Day 8)
